Fall Softball Training
The goal of this 6-week fall program is to build young players skills and technique to ensure they have a strong foundation. Athletes will work in small groups within their age, engaged in targeted drills for infield, outfield, hitting, and baserunning. This includes proper throwing technique, efficient footwork for ground balls and baserunning, as well as hitting mechanics. We will start every session with some speed and agility work, which will help provide proficiency and speed on the field. We want to ensure the athletes build confidence in each basic skill with a positive environment, throughout every session. And most importantly, we want young athletes to fall in love with the game of softball.
Key Focus Areas:
• Throwing Mechanics: Arm path, transfers, follow through.
• Sports Performance Training: Sprints, change of direction, and plyometric movements in a competitive environment to drive intent.
• Hitting Mechanics: Emphasizing where our body should be positioned throughout the swing with our stance, load, stride, and swing path.
• Fielding Techniques: Infield and Outfield glove work.
Format:
• 20 Minutes Speed & Agility Work
• 45 Minutes Defense Work
• 45 Minutes Offense Work
• 10 Minute Competition through Conditioning
*All training will be instructed by BJES Softball staff or
BSF Sports Performance trainers.
